When you search for weddings in Google, all you usually see are the perfect, flawlessly beautiful weddings. You see the nice bouquets, sparkling rings, a dreamy couple, sunny days and a romantic venue. There are many gorgeous photos out there and they are amazing for a bit of wedding inspiration. But are they creating unrealistic expectations? Will the sky always be sunny? Will your venue actually look exactly like the photos you see on Pinterest?
There’s so much pressure to create a picture perfect wedding. No one ever talk about the “real stuff” – the stress, frustration and utter disappointment when things don’t go according to plan. Of course your wedding planning should be an enjoyable process, but when life starts throwing us lemons, we can’t always make lemonade.
As a Melbourne wedding dress designer, people assumed I knew exactly what to do. When I was planning my own wedding, I also had my share of hurdles and upsets. Jumping over them (in heels) was no easy task. I want to be honest and open to you about all the ups and downs involved but also about how fun it can be.
Introducing “The Wedding File”
I’ve decided to create “The Wedding File” for our modern brides out there, who get that wedding planning is challenging. Being well informed will help your planning process be a (delicious) piece of cake. Are you ready for those problems that will probably happen?
The Wedding File will also include tips, expert interviews with other bridal vendors and real emotions associated with weddings. We hope to cater for all your wedding information needs and answer all the deep and heart to heart questions you can’t seem to ask others.
If you’re a bride to be and feeling defeated because more things keep going wrong than right, I want to assure you that it’s all normal! Just remember, when things go awry, you’re not alone. I’ve been there, and having been there I can also tell you that planning my special day was also one of the most exciting experiences of my life.
PS. Wanna catch up? The Bride Style Workshop is coming in Nov. All things bridal fashion, body shapes, how to shop for the perfect wedding gown, and special guest for bridal hair and make up demo… Sounds fun? Send us an email on [email protected] for more info.
