Makeup by Sophie Knox. Makeup artist specialist in the Mornington Peninsula area.

Hello, my name is Sophie Reynolds (was a Knox), and I am a makeup artist & hairstylist down on the Mornington Peninsula. I love being a makeup artist. Being able to enhance peoples best features and see their inner confidence grow is truly amazing. My thing is I like skin to look like skin, beautiful glowing and radiant makeup.

What is the best part about your job?

I love being creative and I love people. Being invited to be apart of someones wedding morning is truly so rewarding. It is always such fun, everyone is always happy, and there is just this energy about the day. Then seeing someones vision all come together its the best. When the bride has her hair and makeup done, and then gets into her wedding dress. There is this moment, a look on her face -she becomes a bride. And it is just magical.

What are your current 3 favorite looks for brides?

Really beautiful glowing natural makeup.

We all know how important it is to have a great canvas, so taking care of your skin is important. What advice do you have brides in preparation for their big day?

This is so important! I can’t stress this enough. Especially now with high definition cameras everywhere – on peoples phones. Starting by having a good skin care routine. The better hydrated the skin is, the better the makeup will look and last. Start having facials to help exfoliate and hydrate about 6-12 months before the wedding. And water, water water water, make sure you are drinking enough water.

And just for a bit of fun, what is your favorite cocktail?

Espresso Martini – coffee in a cocktail is genius ; )
